Josei-muke (女性向け): A generic term for works and goods “for women”.
Otome-muke (乙女向け): A generic term for works that contain romance elements, usually between a heroine & male love interest(s)
Boys Love・BL (ボーイズラブ・BL): a genre for works that contain MxM romance, usually with explicit sexual scenes.
Teens Love・TL (ティーンズラブ・TL): a genre for works that contain MxF romance with explicit sexual scenes. These works follows the same pattern as shoujo manga, however, the development of the story is more explicit and contains graphic sex scenes like in adult manga.
Ikemen (イケメン): A good-looking/handsome man.
Bishounen (美少年): A beautiful boy.
Ikemen Voice・Ikebo (イケメンボイス・イケボ): A cool/sexy voice. Usually used to describe a male voice that is pleasant to the ear.
Drama CD (ドラマCD): Audio dramas in which the listener witnesses the story from an outsider’s perspective. Drama CDs can be a manga adaptation or an original piece.
Situation CD (シチュエーションCD): Audio dramas in which the listener is part of the story and the character(s) speak to the listener directly.
Josei-muke Situation CD (女性向けシチュエーションCD): Audio dramas “for women”. They contain romance elements between a heroine (you) & male love interest(s). There are some that contain explicit and sexual content. The heroine is usually not voiced. Since the listener is the “heroine”, it’s like the male love interest(s) is speaking directly to the listener. (Known as Otome Drama CD & R18 Drama CD to English fans)
BL Drama CD・BLCD (BLドラマCD・BLCD): Audio dramas that contain MxM romance, usually with explicit sexual scenes. BLCDs can be a manga adaptation or an original piece.
Doujin CD・DJCD (同人CD): Audio dramas that are produced by “unofficial” labels. If sexual content is present, it can be more explicit due to limited censorship.
Otome Game・Otomege (乙女ゲーム・乙女ゲー ): A generic term for games for women that contain romance elements between a heroine & male love interest(s). There are some that contain explicit and sexual content. The relationship between the heroine and male love interest are important factors that determine the events in the story and endings.
BL Game・Bobuge・BLG (BLゲーム・ボブゲ): A generic term for Boys Love games. These games may or may not have explicit and sexual content.
